Spring Energized PTFE Seals

Spring energized PTFE seals (also known as vari seal) is widely used in high-efficiency and low-friction performance occasions, generally used for rod or end face sealing. It is a spring loaded ptfe seal, a PTFE lip seal and a PTFE lip rotary shaft seal, consisting of an outer ring sealing ring PTFE or filled PTFE and an inner ring spring.
Although PTFE material has many performance advantages, due to the lack of elasticity of PTFE material, adding an energizer can make up for this shortcoming to achieve a more robust and stable sealing ability.

TYS is a spring energized ptfe seal manufacturer. We are specially designed and manufactured to solve the problem of withstanding high temperature and high pressure (up to 70 MPa, depending on the material combination, design, and operating temperature), adapt to chemical corrosion, and require extremely low friction. There are U-type, V-type, O-type, and H-type design structures, divided into spring energized lip seals, spring energized u cup seals and v spring energized seal, stainless steel metal springs, and a wide range of materials and sizes to choose from to meet your specific application needs.

Advantages

  • Extremely low friction coefficient, effectively reducing wear, self-lubricating, low torque
  • Adaptable to most fluid media and chemicals, excellent anti-corrosion performance and stability
  • Anti-aging, not prone to permanent elastic deformation
  • Can withstand sudden temperature changes, operating temperature range (-200°C to +300°C)
  • Will not contaminate food and pharmaceutical liquids
  • Effectively improve sealing performance and service life
  • Unlimited storage

Working Principle

Spring energized seals are widely used to reciprocate or rotate shafts. The working principle is that the medium presses the spring to force the sealing lip to fit the shaft groove to form a seal. The spring provides a permanent elastic force to the outer ring, compensates for material wear, and cooperates with the offset of the components. Excellent sealing ability can be achieved through the system’s internal pressure and the spring’s elastic force, regardless of high or low pressure conditions.
