V packing set installation method
Vee pack seals is a commonly used seal that plays a key sealing role in mechanical equipment. This article will introduce how to correctly install vee pack seals to ensure the regular operation of the equipment and extend the service life of the seal.
1. Choose the right size and material
The size and material of the vee pack seals need to match the size and surface roughness of the equipment’s shaft or hole. If you choose a seal that is too large or too small, it will result in a poor sealing effect or excessive stretching of the seal during use, destroying the sealing effect. In addition, different materials are suitable for various working environments. For example, silicone rubber is suitable for high-temperature and chemical corrosion environments, while fluoro rubber is suitable for high-temperature and high-pressure environments.
2. Cleaning and lubrication
Before installing the vee pack seals, you need to clean the dust, impurities and grease on the shaft or hole. Then, you need to lubricate the seal to reduce its friction during installation and use. However, the type and amount of lubricant should meet the seal’s material and working environment requirements.
3. Install the seal
Place the opening of thev pack seals on one side of the shaft or hole, and then push the seal into place along the direction of the shaft or hole. During the installation process, make sure that the opening of the seal is consistent with the movement direction of the equipment to ensure the sealing effect. At the same time, you need to pay attention to the angle of the shaft accessories to avoid contact friction during installation, causing damage or angle deformation. Make sure that the seal is not skewed or twisted; otherwise, it will affect the sealing effect.
A. To installv pack sealss with large outer diameters, use a pulling tool. Press the seal into the housing, pull it until it is locked, slow down the pulling speed, and put the seal into the housing near the seal so that the seal is evenly distributed on the inside of the housing.
B. Forv pack sealss with small and medium outer diameters, pliers can be used to install them, and they are evenly distributed on the inside of the housing. Screw the mechanical prompt port from the center of the housing so that it is in close contact with the inner diameter of the seal. When screwing it on, gently clamp the ground so that the seal is evenly distributed on the inside of the housing.
4. Ensure the compression of the seal ring
After installing the seal ring, you need to ensure the compression of the seal ring to ensure the sealing effect. The compression of the seal ring should be 50% to 70% of the thickness of the seal ring section. If the compression is too tiny, the seal ring will not fit tightly to the surface of the shaft or hole, resulting in leakage. If the compression is too large, the seal ring will overstretch during use, destroying the sealing effect.
5. Verify the sealing effect
After installing the seal ring, you need to verify the sealing effect. You can use a pressure test or directly observe whether there is leakage during the operation of the equipment. If leakage occurs, you need to check whether the seal ring is installed correctly, whether the compression is appropriate, and whether the seal ring material is suitable for the use environment.
The installation of thev pack seals ring requires attention to selecting the appropriate size and material, cleaning and lubricating the correct installation, ensuring the compression degree and verifying the sealing effect. Only by correctly installing and maintaining the seal ring can the regular operation of the equipment be assured and the service life of the seal be extended.
