PTFE has a place in the sealing materials with its unique performance. PTFE gaskets, also called Teflon gaskets, are widely used; the requirements of the seal gasket can be based on the use of the situation; you can also refer to China’s steel flange non-metallic seal gaskets standard HG / T 20606-2009. There are many ways to process PTFE gaskets; we are here to talk about the eight commonly used production methods for PTFE gaskets:

""

I. PTFE plate cutting gasket

In the use of PTFE plate cutting and processing, we usually produce relatively large plate specifications, so we can use the turning plate or molded plate directly rounded out of the seal gasket. Still, it also can be cut into squares or round blocks and then, through the lathe, turned into ptfe gaskets; for the thinner seal, gaskets can also be made into a punching mold, punched directly under the press.

""

With the improvement of processing conditions, many shims can be placed directly on the computerized engraving machine for operation. If the diameter of the shim is large, we can process it into a round strip first and then weld it to solve the problem;

2， PTFE tube turning gasket

Using a PTFE molded tube turning seal gasket and PTFE tube bending gasket surface flatness is good; the output is large, accurate, precise, and less waste, but also more economical processing methods. The disadvantage of processing is that each size of seal gasket requires a matching tube mold;

""

3， PTFE rod turning gasket

A PTFE rod turning seal gasket PTFE rod is a solid rod. General production of gaskets with a small bar lathe saves electricity, and many companies have adopted automatic small lathe processing convenience. This processing method is usually applied to batch size or small gaskets, and large gaskets do not use the primary material savings considerations;

""

4， PTFE molded gasket

The use of mold direct molding, this gasket generally has a specific thickness requirement, such as a thickness greater than 3 mm or more. gasket direct molding sintering, density is better and good pressure resistance, but the processing speed is slower, according to the size of the gasket and the actual amount of PTFE resin powder inputs; the material is no loss, and the mold is easy to process, for a certain amount of mass production of the product;

""

5， PTFE Covered Gasket

Utilizing the performance of PTFE material to resist strong acid, alkali, and oxidants, lined with rubber, asbestos, graphite, and other sandwiches, outsourced PTFE layer, which is called PTFE cladding gasket, this gasket can be adapted to the strong acid and alkali, low-temperature fluid, chlorine, and other pharmaceutical and food processing industries;

6， PTFE wound gaskets

Metal wound composite gasket, which is made of V-type or W-type stainless steel belt and PTFE, spiral winding, the beginning and end of the spot welded gasket, suitable for high temperature and high-pressure steam, oil, gas, solvents, and other production occasions;

7， PTFE reinforced gasket

The use of filler materials mixed with PTFE resin processing board tubes and then processed into the gasket through precision machining or direct molding to get composite gaskets; this composite material is made of gaskets pressure, creep resistance, wear resistance, resistance to high and low temperatures, corrosion resistance, improved performance of the PTFE, but also PTFE development and utilization of the direction of the gasket;

8， Expanded PTFE elastic gasket

Expanded PTFE material is cut and processed into gaskets; expanded PTFE consists of fine bi-directional fibers, is a low-density white PTFE, compared to ordinary PTFE, has a soft, good resilience, creep resistance is superior, and has good sealing properties.

TYS Seals has more than 23 years of experience in the hydraulic seals industry and has used many different production methods; the most commonly used is the second method mentioned above. Each method has its advantages and disadvantages; experience tells us that the second method mentioned above is the best choice; no matter the performance of the product to the economic efficiency of the improvement, TYS seals from the development of the material to the continuous improvement of the production process, through the high-tech way, the upgrading of the raw materials and production equipment, to provide customers around the world with high performance and high cost-effective quality products., to provide high-performance and cost-effective quality products to customers all over the world.

The above experience is for reference only; if there is a better way, please leave a message to discuss and make progress together.
